Garden Notes

It's hard to say when the best time to visit a garden is. While any time is good, first thing in the morning is my favorite. These are discoveries found early, when plants seem well rested and ready for another day of growing. Lately, I capture my finds with a digital camera. I like the instant feedback and the versatility of the images. Many still debate the technical merits of film, but I'm with Weegee when he revealed the secret to his success: f8 and be there.
