A garden is a wonderful place to be on a summer morning. Everything that makes summer a wonderful time of year is there. It's light early, and plant growth happens at a startling rate. Unlike other times of the year, looking closely is something that can be done casually and comfortably, making it easy to spend lots of time.

Show-offs of genetic variability and diversity, wild poppies deserve a portfolio of their own.

These are flowers that are not supposed to be found in the garden. Some are growing away from civilization, others are just moving in on it uninvited.

There is magic in being in the right place at the right time. Light, weather, and the condition of the vegetation conspire, making or breaking an image that connects to our ideal.
